Hope everyone had a happy and safe Memorial Day! I was extremely excited that my hubby had the day off of work. I was so glad we could spend some extra time together!
After some much needed bumming around, we decided to take a trip to the Punchbowl Cemetery. As some of you may remember, I had previously visited the cemetery with my Madre and little Sister. I was really looking forward to going on Memorial Day because the Boy Scouts went out on Sunday and placed leis on all the grave sites.
When we arrived, not only was it really exciting to see so many flowers, but all of flags were quite a site to behold as well!
"The solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom"
There was an over-look that was under construction when I was last here. Rob and I went up and saw the beautiful view (and enjoyed the great breeze)
What better way to celebrate Memorial Day than going to a National cemetery to pay your respects. I was so happy to see so many people there. I am truly grateful for the price that these people, plus many more, paid so that I may live free today.
May we never forget them.
