San Diego Adventures

My awesome little sister Kymi came to visit me for part of her Fall Break.  She was here from Oct 11th to Oct 14th.  We had a BLAST!

On Tuesday we went to some museums.  Every Tuesday of the month different museums are free!  This Tues was the Veteran's Memorial Center, San Diego History Museum, and the Museum of Photographic Arts!

At the San Diego History Museum, they had a HUGE floor mat of the San Diego area.  Here's me swimming in the Pacific Ocean! hehehe

We also took a stroll in Balboa Park!  The weather was gorgeous and the architecture is AMAZING!

On Wednesday we took Mozart to the Dog Beach.
He had the time of his puppy life!!!

It was a love/hate relationship with Mozart and the water.
He liked it, but I think it was a lil too cold!

He LOVED running though!!!

Cute lil puppy pawprints!

He's all dirty sandy!  You can bet he got a bath the SECOND we got home!

Wednesday night Padre came in and Thurs he took us around town before they had to go back to AZ.

We went to Mission Beach and Kymi practiced her rifle for colorgaurd.

It's her first year, I think she's pretty good!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Madre came to visit Oct 20th - 23rd.

We had a great time, but it definitely went by too quickly!

On Thursday we went to the San Diego Temple.
It was my first time there, and MAN!!! I can't believe how GORGEOUS it is!!!
I'm so excited that I live so close (like 15mins) and I can go whenever I want!

On Friday we took Moz to the Dog beach again!

Mom had a blast by the ocean.  Surprisingly it wasn't that cold!

On Saturday, Madre, Padre, Rob and I went on the USS Midway.
Rob was an AWESOME tour guide!
We learned so much from him!!!

On the pier

On the flight deck

Mom... in the brig?  Anyone surprised??? hehehe

Like mother like daughter, what can I say?  :)

Rob got to do a really cool flight simulator.

Here he is shooting down a MiG pilot

He was a DOUBLE ACE!!!  He shot down 10 MiGs!!!  My hero :)

After the Midway, we went to Belmont beach.  Walked the boardwalk and got ice cream.
We also walked the beach and Rob and I picked up some cool sea shells!

I'm excited for Thanksgiving, when I can spend more time with the family! :)

L - O - V - E

L is for the way you look at me

O is for the only one I see

V is very, very extraordinary

E is even more than anyone that you adore and

Love is all that I can give to you

Love is more than just a game for two....

But a game of love is exactly what this post is about!

Here's my latest crafty project inspired by Andrea and Love Actually.  Andrea found this on the Love Actually blog and said how her and her honey had so much fun playing Romantic Scrabble.  I thought how much I'd love that! ...But we don't have Scrabble and we're really working on saving money right now...so I decided to make it myself!!! It turned out GREAT!!!

I grabbed some 8 x 11 posterboard from my craft trunk and drew a grid.

In a spread sheet (I used Numbers cuz I have a Mac, but Excel will do the trick),  I typed out all the letters (A SPECIAL THANKS TO ANDREA FOR LETTING ME KNOW THE CORRECT NUMBERS OF EACH LETTER IN THE REAL SCRABBLE GAME! ).  I made sure it printed out the gridlines - helps with cutting.  And  I printed them on red cardstock.   Then I used my most favorite tool, my straight paper cutter!

I printed out a couple more letters and got some scratch scrapbook paper from my scratch paper envelope.

Here's how I applied it

TADA!!! It's done! :)

Close up on the title... I love it!

I even took the scrap ends of the letter spread sheet and fold them into holders!  Rob really enjoyed the game and my creativity!  Even though... I WON! :) hehehe

Halloween Time at Disneyland!

So I was surfing the web one day and saw an advertisement for Halloween Time at Disneyland!  I thought to myself..."Self, you know you are only about an hour and some change from Disneyland, and you've ALWAYS wanted to go to Disneyland at Halloween time, we REALLY should take advantage of this!"

Well, needless to say, it didn't take a lot of arm twisting to convince myself to go! lol  Actually didn't take a lot of arm twisting to convince Rob to go either!  YEAH!  So I was telling my very good friend Andrea about it and her and her awesome little family decided to come too!  Here's some pics of the SPOOKY great time we had!

Here are a couple cool pictures of the castle...

Kinda hard to tell, but I did a heart in lipstick on my lips!
It didn't last too long, it was REALLY hard not to rub my lips together, lol

It's kinda blurry, but a better pic of our costumes :)
I made Rob's costume by the way!  I was very pleased with how it turned out!

Us on the Dumbo ride! :)
