The Many Adventures of Andra's Family - Week Two

The adventure continues!  Here's week two...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday July 23rd

Kymi's is showcasing her brand new dress!  We're getting all dolled up for a dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu!

We're waiting eagerly on the pier!

Here's Madre's new dress
(we went with a purple, black, and white theme)

Here's a cruise liner

Some fun music and hula dancers while we waited to board

My dress isn't new, but that's ok

The Three Amigas!

We're on board!  This was part of our entertainment.  He asked where everyone was from and then would sing a little diddy about the place they shouted out.  Here he's singing about Arizona!

We are ready for some FOOD! lol

This is the view out of the window next to us, lovely!

Oh, he's sounded the conch shell!  We're getting underway!

A boat passing by

I think Madre liked the big buff shirtless guy standing next to me ;) ;)

Don't I have the PRETTIEST sister!?!?!

Showing off our plumeria flowers (you put it on the right ear if you're single and left ear if you're married)

Mmm... Virgin Mai Tai.  So really I should say, Mmm... fruit juice lol

And interesting salad

Steak, veggies, potatoes, and ALL YOU CAN EAT crab legs!

I gave my steak to Madre (I'm limiting my red meat intake) and ate my weight in crab!  Not really, but I did a good job lol

Mmm... macadamia nut ice cream!

Top side! A view of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach from the ocean!

Cute lil sailboats!

This is really neat!  We went topside just in time!  Here's a progression of the sunset...

BEAUTIFUL!

Neat huh?  I thought so!

Madre's hair and plumeria blowing in the sea breeze!
(we had to move it and attach it to a barrette so it'd stay in here hair lol)

Kymi was on the phone the ENTIRE time we were top side.

Don't mind me, I'm being attacked by my hair.  But I LOVE the flag in the background :)

Tuesday July 24th

Iolani Palace - the one and only royal land in the United States

I'm not gonna lie, I saw this and immediately started singing, "I am 16 going on 17..." hehehe

You're not allowed to take any pictures inside, but just before we went in, I snapped this.  Check out our booties ;)

This is the King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center.  We didn't have time to go, but looks nice from the outside!

A statue of King Kamehameha V

Here's a plaque at the Punchbowl Cemetery

Beautiful, and gigantic tree covering graves

The entrance to the cemetery

The Gettysburg Address

This tree had some wicked roots

"In these gardens are recorded the names of Americans who gave their lives in the service of their country and whose earthly resting place is known only to God"

Along these corridors show maps of all the US battles fought in the Pacific Seas.

I know it's hard to see, but right in the middle is the name "Apodaca, Victor J. Jr, Maj".  He was in the Air Force and went MIA during the Vietnam war.  I wore a bracelet with his name on it all through college, stating that POW/MIA are never forgotten.  I still have that bracelet.

Here is information on Maj Victor J Apodaca Jr, if you are interested.

Wednesday July 25th

We went to the Laie Temple and got to do some family names!

After the temple we changed our clothes and explored the Dole Plantation.

Mmm... Pineapple Float with Dole whip :D

Don't we make adorable pineapples?!? hehehe

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday July 26th

Kymi got some major tanning time, and Madre and I floated around in our new inner tubes!

Gotta love hips! I don't even need hands to hold this thing up! lol
